I came across the below blogging prompt from The Daily Post free E-Book : 365 Writing Prompts last week.

If you could get all the nutrition you needed in a day with a pill - no worrying about what to eat, no food preparation - would you do it ?

Damn right I would !! I'm well aware that a 'nutrition pill' or a 'food pill' can't ever really substitute real food - however, given the fact that I'm not really a foodie - such a pill would make my life easier !

I love desserts ! I have a baaaaaad sweet tooth.  I'm one of those people who would happily skip all meals and replace them with something sweet.  Therefore an all-in-one nutrition pill would be quite ideal for me to ensure that I get my 5-a-day.  Mind you, I'm quite sure that I would still eat things such as fruits, cereal / muesli, smoothies, other liquids (coconut water, lemonade, a yogurt based drink known as 'lassi') and of course actual chocolates / desserts.

There is no substitute for dessert in my eyes.  I'm suddenly craving a small bowl of nutella and crunchy peanut butter along with an apple ! [I'm making it a healthy-ish dessert]

At the end of the day, I'm the kind of person who enjoys going out to eat (hint - I don't have to cook) and at the same time I enjoy cooking for a group of friends for a brunch / dinner party.  I never really make an effort when it comes to 'food' when I'm looking to grab a bite on my own.  Give me fruit yogurts and I could eat them all through the day.

What about you ? Would you take the pill substitute and forsake the prep time required in making a full meal ? Think of all the time that could be saved that is spent cooking (yes, I know I'm making it sound like a task).  I know it doesn't take long to actually cook if you plan your meals out or have a stocked fridge (neither of which is applicable to me haha).

Pop on over to The Daily Post to read more about what other bloggers have to say about the Red Pill, Blue Pill

Red Pill, Blue Pill

I've been on the look out for some blogging inspiration - especially now that I've decided to sign up for the Ultimate Blog Challenge .  The last few days have been spent doing general research on the past challenges that I've participated in to get an idea of what kind of themes or topics other participants were blogging about.  The challenge sends out blogging topics each day as well to keep the participants inspired.

Then, the other night I came across The Daily Post blog site which has a Daily Prompts section.  It's quite cool as there is a 'daily' prompt (as the name suggests).  The prompt is a word or up to 3 words from what I've noticed topped up with a question / statement that you can put your own response to in case you don't want to think of a topic solely based on the prompt word(s).  The site also allows you to pingback to their posts and enables your post to be visible to all the participating bloggers.

Quite a few of the prompts have caught my attention and I'm hoping to get cracking on them at the earliest.  I may have to back-date some of them to go in accordance with the Prompt schedule or maybe it won't matter at all.  I'll figure that bit out.  I'm a bit of a stickler for order.

I also came across A Prompt A Day which has only just started in June and as the name suggests - the host puts up prompts ranging from a word, an image, a quote.  There are about 80 prompts so far.

Another interesting site is The One Minute Writer - wherein there's a daily prompt but you have 60 seconds to jot your thoughts down in the form of a comment.  Of course you can take this a step further and expand on your own blog.  I know I would do that.

So there you go - in case you are in need of some writing inspiration, I'd definitely recommend heading on over to any of these blog sites and see what it is that inspires you to write.

p.s Don't forget to share your blog link in the comments so that I can visit your page.

kiss meAdmit it – you thought I might go with Kamasutra or Kinky for this post didn’t you ?

Kisses.  Kissing.  I love to kiss.  A kiss can leave you weak in the knees.  A kiss can make you want to melt into your partners arms.  Kissing is the basic building block of intimacy.  Kissing is one of the first ways we connect to someone sexually (other than being physically attracted to them).  Kissing releases endorphins, dopamine, serotonin, adrenaline and oxytocin; also known as the love (or bonding) hormone in our bodies.  No wonder kissing makes you feel so connected to the person.   There’s something about a passionate kiss that cannot be articulated by words or replicated by sex.

Kissing is the kind of foreplay that one should never ever skip out on !  I’m a big fan of French Kissing – add a bit of nibbles on the lower lips; running my tongue across the roof of my partners mouth (trust me, this is a major turn on – try it on yourself, the roof of your mouth is packed with nerve endings that will feel like you are having mini explosions in your mouth); and then alternating between soft lip kiss and some tongue action.   Kissing shouldn’t be restricted to just on the mouth.  I love being kissed on my neck and anywhere on my back ! It gives me tingles and makes my toes curl up !  You know you’re doing a good job at kissing when you can feel your partners’ hard-on pressed up against you or when you feel the dampness on her panties !

Have you ever tried to give someone an Eskimo or Butterfly Kiss ?  An Eskimo kiss is when you rub your noses back and forth against each other.  Seriously, the real life Eskimos do this !  If you haven’t tried a Butterfly kiss, all you have to do is get close to them so the tips of your eyelashes are touching theirs (or touching their cheeks) and then then blink very fast so your eyelashes flutter together like butterfly wings.  What about an Australian kiss ?  Confused ? It’s a French Kiss but down-under i.e. cunnilingus ! (see you learn something new all the time)

kissing 2

What’s the best and / or worst kiss you have had ?  I met this amazing young man in London and  we spent almost 3 hours just kissing on a bench at 2 a.m. It was hot, erotic, sexy :  our eyes closed, heads tilted against each other, bodies pressed together, hands roving all over each other; and left us both craving for each others’ mouths. We couldn’t keep our lips off each other. We both ended up with aching, slightly swollen lips the next day. That’s my favourite type of kiss. Full of passion and desire.

When was the last time you kissed like it was your first time ? Do you remember your first kiss ?  Any tips on how to make your partner swoon from a kiss ?

Diva’s Tips :

  • Kiss Slowly.  Kiss Deeply.  Kiss Passionately.
  • Don’t forget to kiss your partner whilst you’re having sex.  It’s down right intimate !!
  • Take some initiative and kiss your partner when (and where) they least expect it ! It’ll keep the sparks going
  • Do NOT slobber all over your partners face !! Too much salvia is NOT cool !

initiationtitle‘I want you. Now.’

‘How would you like to feel my lips on your cock?’

‘Wear your sexiest dress and skip the panties tonight’

These are some some of the phrases that convey the message ‘I want to have sex with you’ and are an instant turn-on for men and women. Especially when it’s thrown in there when the other person least expects it – it can turn out to be a bit of an erotic surprise for them ! The phrases are also quite blunt, which taps into racy fantasies that most men & women have about raw, spontaneous, animalistic sex.

There was a time when men almost always initiated sex. Today that’s not the case any more. Women are getting more comfortable with their sexuality and are taking the reins (literally).  For all the shy women out there, just remember that men want to be pursued by their partners just as much as women do.  I’ve been known to initiate sex in my past relationships.  It’s not always as easy as I’d like it to be. Sometimes it’s a bit nerve wrecking but hell that’s what the fun is about right. Thankfully my advances have never been rejected because that would be a slight blow to my ego.   BUT having said that, there’s nothing wrong if your partner doesn’t want to have sex.  Don't take it personally.  There are many reasons your partner isn't in the mood that have absolutely nothing to do with you.  Maybe they’ve had a hard day at work; family pressure; she might be getting her period and feeling bloated.  See none of these have anything to do with you – so stop worrying.

Here’s the thing about initiation and taking the initiative – you have to try it to know what tickles your partners fancy and makes them horny.  Nothing screams ‘FREEORGASM-DRSEXtake me off’ like new lingerie. So ladies, why not wait for your man in a new teddy and watch his pupils dilate and cock salute you. Gents, have you got your partner any lingerie before ? What about sex toys ? I took an ex to a Sex-Expo in London and he encouraged me to buy a vibrator which soon became a favourite in the bedroom.

Are you an initiator ? Do you wish your partner would initiate more ? Have you ever been shot down for initiating sex ?

Diva’s Tips :

  • If you’re too shy to vocalize your thoughts in front of your partner; just send them a slightly naughty text message
  • If your partner tends to initiate sex; take the reigns and tell them what you want to have done to you ! Trust me, your partner will be glad to oblige
  • Initiation could be as simple as leaving some cheeky love coupons for your partner to find (one of my personal favourites)

domination

Domination.  We’ve all heard about this.  What comes to your mind when you think of domination ?  Do you think of leather and whips and blindfolds ? Do you imagine your partner in knee high stiletto boots telling you in no uncertain terms what she wants you to do to her else face the wrath of her whip ?  Do you think of being tied up against the bed poles (or the table or wherever) and teased until you’re begging to just cum ?

Domination is different for everyone.   Some are pros and hard-core while some of us are still quite vanilla about it.  I’ve experimented with blindfolds, handcuffs, satin scarves to tie / restrain my partner (and having been restrained myself) but I’ve never really indulged in the really painful kind of domination that one tends to imagine.  Things like spanking, being whipped with leather, nipple and pussy clamps – that’s just not me.   I rather have my hair pulled back; be ravaged by my partners mouth during cunnilingus with a blindfold on. Personally, its a turn on to see the dominant side of my partner come out when I least expect it.

tumblr_mkoxe8ZkJq1s7g0wzo1_500If you’ve never given domination a try – you can start off with something easy.  Send your partner an email or a text telling him / her along the lines of : ‘When I see you tonight, it’s simple – I tell you what to do, and you answer ‘Yes Sir’ / ‘Yes Ma’am’ … or even a straight forward ‘You are going to get the best blowjob the minute you walk in through the door’ ..  that simple message conveys power, control and a naughty preview to what will happen later that night.  If you want to ‘be dominated’ then let your partner know that ‘your wish is my command’ or ‘tonight, I’m yours to do as you wish with’ .. simple and effective words that’s going to leave your partner hot and horny for you !

What’s your take on domination ? Do you enjoy being dominated by your partner or do you prefer to dominate and take control of your sexual encounter ? What are the boundaries that you have drawn ?  What works and doesn’t work for you ?

Diva’s Tips:

  • If you’re just starting out with domination, remember to keep a ‘safe word’ so you both know when to draw a line
  • Communicate with your partner before hand about your likes and dislikes
  • Have Fun and Don’t over-do it !!

a-z-of-sex-syn2The A to Z Blogging Challenge kicks off on the 1st of April ‘13.  Unfortunately due to my schedule, I was unable to register as a participant as I missed the deadline … but that’s not going to stop me.

The theme is a bit racy .. and it’s going to be fun .. ‘A to Z of Sex’ !!

I’ve been thinking about writing about a particular theme ever since I completed the challenge last year. In hindsight I should have just started writing the posts back then but that didn’t quite happen.

If you are participating in the challenge, have you decided on a theme ? What is it ?  If you aren’t participating, what are some of the topics you would like to read about based on my current theme ?

APRIL-2013-CALENDAR-001Last year I took part in the April Blogging from A to Z Challenge which I reckon was quite a success for me.  I had my blogging game on : theme in place, pre-scheduled posts and I was totally on a roll ! I’m hoping that 2013 is just as good especially since my poor blog has been slightly neglected.  I’ve been busy with work and not had much personal time – so I can’t really complain right ?

One of the hosts of the challenge, Jeremy of Retro-Zombie, has created a desktop calendar that has the breakdown of which Alphabets has to be used with each day in April.  You might want to download this onto your computer / laptop and use it as your desktop background as a form of motivation.  You know, just so you don’t forget to post each day.

You might also want to consider scheduling posts in case you think you won’t be able post every day for whatever reasons (work, travel, unexpected power cuts, illness)

Good luck to everyone participating in the challenge ! If you have happened to stop by this page, please do share your blog link so that I can come visit you during the course of the challenge.

The other day a friend of mine, randomly says to me ‘isn’t one of your new year resolutions to drink more water’ ? I wasn’t quite sure where he got that from because other than penning down a set of resolutions back in 2010 – I hardly ever make New Year resolutions.  Then I realized, he might be referring to this really nice set of ‘thoughts’ I had come across and put up on my blog as Divas’ New Year Resolutions on 1st Jan 2012.  I’ve actually had that image as my desktop picture and I suppose in some ways a lot of those thoughts have worked for me.

Looking back at 2012 – and now connecting it with the ‘resolutions’ – I reckon I’ve done a pretty good job.  According to my business partner, I’ve ‘calmed down significantly’ after taking an extended break to get out of India.  The trip honestly has done wonders for me and I just feel like a brand new person.  That’s what I need.  I’ve also picked up the ‘this too shall pass’ attitude so I’m stressing less than I was before.  I actually feel like I have cut back on sugar … I do love my desserts, but if it doesn’t hit the spot then what’s the point of having it right ? (And this cannot be considered complaining!)

All of the above considered, I came across another really nice set of thoughts that caught my attention (who would think it’s so hard to find a nice set of resolutions that do not involve ‘lose weight’) which shall go alongside my existing desktop picture.

What do you think  ? Have you made any New Year Resolutions ? Do you actually manage to keep them ?

Day 31

I can’t believe we are at the end of the Ultimate Blog Challenge ! It’s been a month of daily blogging which means 31 posts in 31 days !

I knew I was up for the challenge this October after already having taken part in January earlier this year.  I started off with a purpose and an actual theme to the challenge and as you must have realized – I have used a series of quotes on images and just blogged away to my hearts desires.

This is the 3rd blog challenge I’ve participated in (The UBC in January; the A to Z challenge in April and The UBC Oct) – and it’s really pushed me into becoming a better blogger.

Even though I didn’t get to visit as many blogs as I wanted to; I have book marked several of them to come back to and I’m still working my way through the list of posts that have been put up on the UBC FB page.

How was your journey throughout the challenge ? Was this your first time or are you a pro at challenges ? Did you get to finish all your posts ? Did you pre-schedule any posts or did you just blog as and when you felt like ? Would you take part in the Ultimate Blog Challenge again ?

If you’ve participated in the challenge, please take 30 seconds to share your linky below so that others can also check out your blog.

I feel like I’ve been on a roller coaster the past few months.  Everything I have experienced has made me think .. think of my past, my present, my very clouded future, my vision for the future that I want, and it then my thoughts just drop me straight back into the present which makes my heart clench, stings my eyes and almost crinkles my nose whilst I blink to fight back tears.

Before you start worrying about me – they are not unhappy tears – or sad tears, or emotionally distraught tears – more like tears of frustration or that inability to be able to come to a decision that would lead me on the path that I want to be on.

3C's

I’m almost overwhelmed with the choices that I have – and I want to take the chance because I know deep down inside – it will change my life.  Now it’s a matter of prioritizing the choices and the chances, and hoping that the change I want, comes about .. sooner than later.

What steps have you taken to make a conscious choice that would result in a change in your life ?

540584_10151178123714966_1647154237_n

This is so true.

I’m the kind of person who will always make time for the people who matter to me – be it my friends, family, work colleagues, even acquaintances.

This summer, I learned a lot about some of the people I thought I knew.  People change - the status quo of ones’ past relationship with one another also change.  The relationship  or rapport you share with someone may seem stable or solid or even continuous when you are miles apart – but the true test comes about when you come in contact again.

As with any relationship – it takes time and effort from all those involved for the relationship to cultivate and continue to grow.  If  it’s just one-sided -  then is it really as real as you think it to be ?

Now I know who are the ones that really matter and the ones that don’t.  This way I save my time and energy for those that are important to me.

Have you felt that way ? Have you ever experienced a distance between yourself and someone you considered a friend ?

blog2-1

Now that I’ve gone ahead and signed up to participate in the Ultimate Blog Challengeit struck me that I haven’t really thought about what I want to blog about.

I have obviously given it some thought but not enough that I have a blog schedule in place for the duration of the challenge.  I need to get on this like yesterday !

Last year I wrote ad-hoc posts; whatever came to mind really and that was kind of hard to do.  This year I was thinking of using a series of ‘quotes’ whether it be inspirational, motivational, or even love / relationship based and see what it stirs me to write up.

Are you following any sort of theme or system for the Blog Challenge ? Have you planned your posts in advance or are you going to take each day as it comes and just blog about whatever catches your fancy ?

Please feel free to share your blog links in the linky below so that I can stop by and visit you; and would love to hear about what you are going to do during the course of the challenge.

Happy Blogging Folks !

The Ultimate Blog Challenge is BACK and the challenge commences on 1st October 2012.

I participated for the first time back in January this year and quite looking forward to the challenge as this Diva has been a bit of a bad blogger the past few months.

If you haven’t ever participated in a blog challenge, then I would highly recommend that you try this one out.

You can sign up over here : http://www.ultimateblogchallenge.com and enter your name and email address (this also allows the organizers of the challenge to send you across daily blog ideas and gets you listed on the site as someone who is participating)

There are few simple rules to follow :

  1. Post every day for 31 days (duh !).  Doesn’t matter if you post twice a day and then skip a day – but you have to hit 31 posts over the entire month of October.
  2. Each post must have a minimum of 100 words to count – so you can’t just put up a picture or a video and leave it there
  3. Once you’ve posted, then tweet your post with the tag #blogboost so other participants can find you, and come comment on your blog
  4. Go to the #blogboost page and take the time to read other participants blogs (and don’t forget to comment!)
  5. No adult blogs – so keep it PG
  6. Have fun whilst you blog !

If you are taking part in the challenge, please make sure you leave a comment and share your blog link so that I can stop by your blog .

Now I’m excited.  Bring on the Ultimate Blog Challenge !

Just writing a word like Zeal and Zest looks kinda funny as part of a blog title.  At least I managed to come up with something other than ‘zzzz’ (which is really how I’m feeling after 26 posts for the A to Z challenge)

ZThis is gonna be short & sweet.  Your blog is all about you and your blogger voiceLet it be heard.  Let your zeal and zest for your blogging come out in every post that you write.  If you can’t express yourself on your blog – then what’s the point ?

And most importantly, don’t ‘zeek out’ i.e. don’t lose control of yourself / don’t freak out !  Blogging is meant to be fun – so smile and just do it !

Yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay !! The A to Z Challenge is finally complete !

p.s. I promise ‘zeek out’ is a real word in the dictionary !

WOkay so I was totally clueless about what to write about for the Letter W … My first thought was to write about Wikipedia (‘cos really it’s such a great site to be able to find info on) but then I realized it wasn’t quite the blogging tip I wanted to share.

Ever since I started my first blog challenge in Aug 2011, I have been on the look out for other blog challenges as well as trying to find new ways to come up with good content for my blog.

Just now it struck me – the only way your blogger voice is going to grow is when you actually try out different forms of writing !  I’ve never actually done an actual writing exercise (like proper writers do) so I can’t tell you what to do with that.  But my perspective of it is that you should be open to writing about things you have never written about and something that is different to your usual content on your blog.  Taking part in a blog challenge is a form of a writing exercise for me and I can’t tell you just how chuffed I am with myself for making it through the challenges !

Here are a few ‘writing exercises’ (or challenges or whatever writing prompts – whatever you want to call them) that you might find useful :

  1. 15 Day Feelings Challenge : you have one word as a prompt for each day and you can write about anything you want
  2. 7 Deadly Sins Challenge : 7 sins, and you need to write 7 things about them in relation to you
  3. 10 Day YOU Challenge : a great way of letting your readers know more about you !

And if you want more check out these links :

  1. 5 Daily Writing Exercises That Can Improve Your Blogging by Mariana Ashley
  2. 365 Picture Prompts from the Creativity Portal
  3. Imagination Prompts from the Creativity Portal

I hope you find these useful and if you have any writing exercises or tips then please do share them in the comments.

Bottom line – write whatever it is that you want to write about as long it comes from the heart.  Not all of us are professional writers; or can claim to have penned a book or two – but if you put your mind to it – anything is possible.  Happy Blogging folks !

UThis was a bit of a hard one for me – so I’m going to try and make this short and sweet.  Your blog is one of millions of blogs out there.  So what makes your blog so special for people to come out and keep visiting you ?

You need to make sure your blog is Unique and is always Updated.  I know it sounds ‘easy’ but it’s sometimes overwhelming to know that you have all these amazing blogs out there that just seem to have something special about them.  And of course we all want our blogs to be one of those ‘go-to’ blogs ‘cos its got all the best content ever !

My suggestions to you to keep your blog unique would include mixing up your content; participate in various blog challenges; and invite your favourite bloggers to write guest posts for your blog to give a new voice to your blog.

Some of the ways you can keep your blog updated is by refreshing your blog design every few months or at least once a year.  I’ve had about 4 different designs & layouts for my blog since I started blogging.  You can also schedule your blog posts so that you have regular content being posted even when you are too busy to blog.

There is no right or wrong way to make your blog unique – what makes it really unique is the fact that’s its YOUR blogger voice that’s going to be heard and those who like it will stick around and those who don’t – oh well they’re just missing out.

Ideas & Inspiration

All blog posts stem from an idea or a thought which our fingers tap out into posts via the keyboard.

Do you ‘think’ about what your blog posts are going to be about or do you just let your creativity take over ? Or do you get an ‘ah ha’ moment and you know that’s what your next post is going to be about.

Sometimes I get inspired by other blogs I read – and I feel that I could definitely add another perspective to the general idea & thought behind that post.  I started participating inI memes such as #MusicMonday and #WordlessWednesday ‘cos I found that I certain music and photographs just tend to inspire me to pour out my emotions / thoughts.

I love the idea behind the A to Z Challenge because you’ve basically been given an outline of what you have to do – and now the world is your oyster and you can choose to write about anything.  I’ve come across blogs that are using the theme to list the best movies; favourite music artists; give writing advice; introducing characters from a fiction novel; and even relationships.  It’s fantastic.

Where do you get your blog ideas from ? What inspires you the most ? What inspired the theme behind your A to Z challenge posts ? Do check out my posts 712 Topics You Can Write About and Never Run Out of Blog Ideas Again

Infographics

I’m sure you’ve seen them floating around cyber space – I find them pretty cool.  Did you know that cave paintings are considered to be the first infographics ? How cool is that ?

I quite admire anyone who is able to create an infographic – especially for complex information that needs to be easily understood.  I tried doing a basic one just for myself and gave up half way ‘cos it was getting too detailed (and really I am quite useless at using advanced Photoshop or any other creative software)

Do you use any infographics in your blog posts ? Have you tried to create one before ? If you are the creative designer type and use various software for designs then you should check out Inkscape

Diva’s Discovery

I personally really liked ‘Visual.ly’ for creating infographics because the interface is simple and easy to use.  Have you ever used it before or heard of the site ?  Here’s a funky infographic I made with the help of the ‘create’ feature on the site (they also have templates to guide you from)

create infographics with visual.ly

AIt’s quite simple really.  The way I see it – the about me / about the author should give your first time readers a quick glimpse of your personality and possibly what they can expect from your blog.

If your blog is going to be focused on a specific topic then the blog URL, the blog title should reflect that; if you are a sporadic blogger like myself then the name should indicate that.

I’ve created some headers at the top of my blog to segregate my blog posts since I don’t really have a theme to my blog other than the fact that it is very sporadic.  So I’ve got sections such as  ‘Music’, ‘Poetry’, ‘Reflections’, ‘Relationships’, ‘Wordless Wednesday’, ‘Sexy Saturday’ (a meme I created for fun) and ‘Diva’s Guests’ which features all my guest bloggers.  I think it makes it easy for a reader to select what kind of posts they may want to read and to see if the topics appeal to them.

Also be prepared to be ‘accountable’ for your blog.  If you’re gonna have an opinion about a subject be ready for people to counter your opinion and make sure you have facts to back it up.   That’s where ‘attribution’ comes – don’t forget to link back to sites where you get your sources from (whether it be statistics or even images).

Diva’s Discovery

There’s a cool site that I would like to share with you all called ‘about.me’ and it basically lets you put all your social media profiles onto one website and are even doing a promotional offer of giving out business cards with your details on it.  Definitely worth checking out especially if you can tweak the html code to direct your ‘about’ link to this site.

Yaaaaaaaaaaaay that’s my first post done for the A to Z Challenge ! Feel free to share a link to your ‘about’ page in the comments so that others in bloggersville can visit you.

As you might be aware (if you follow my blog) that I’m going to be taking part in the April Blogging from A to Z Challenge. With April just around the corner, I’ve tried to get a head start and at least decide on a theme for the challenge.  Have you got a theme in place ?

To help keep me (and anyone else participating) on track with the challenge, one of the hosts Jeremy of Retro-Zombie has created a desktop calendar that has the breakdown of which Alphabets has to be used with each day in April.

a-to-z-april

You might want to download this onto your computer / laptop and use it as your desktop background as a form of motivation.  You know, just so you don’t forget to post each day.

You might also want to consider scheduling posts in case you think you won’t be able post every day for whatever reasons (work, travel, unexpected power cuts, illness)

Good luck to everyone participating in the challenge ! If you have happened to stop by this page, please do share your blog link so that I can come visit you during the course of the challenge.
