As some of you may know, I recently went to Bermuda and OMG it is by far one of the most beautiful islands I have ever been on.

Here are some of the gorgeous sights that I got to feast my eyes on every day …

This looks so beautiful.  I would love to sit out in the middle where all the rocks are gathered together and just enjoy the breeze against my skin.

sunset wave

I would love to be here right now.  I envy the photographer that managed to capture this image.  (and if it’s photo shopped, then don’t tell me – let me enjoy this moment)

Two weekends from now – I’ll be in Bermuda and maybe I might get a pic like this myself.

natures tunne

Found this over on TheGirlThing.com and had to share this with you all.  I would love to go through a tunnel like this – whether it be by train or car or even walking.

There’s something about being surrounded and totally encompassed by nature that appeals to me.  It sort of takes me to another place – away from the every day things that tend to clutter ones mind.  There’s a serenity in nature that just takes my breath away.

sunkissed hammock

I wish I was on that hammock right now.  I just want to be near the water, somewhere surrounded by nature watching a beautiful sunset.  (With someone special would be an added bonus)

colour wood

I smiled when I saw this and knew I just had to share with you all.  Doesn’t this remind you of a box of scattered colour pencils ? I haven’t used colour pencils in the longest time and wouldn’t mind grabbing a few and see what comes of it !

What’s your first thought when you see this picture ? What memory does it evoke ?

I went camping two weekends ago, and came across this really funky looking red-velvet bug !

I’m not sure if it was a giant fat spider or beetle type of bug, but it was quite cool and I’d never really anything like it before.

And it turns out that this lil’ fella curls up into a red fluff ball when you pick it up ! (No I didn’t even try to touch it !! one of the other campers picked it up)

This is another one of my favourite pictures from my recent trip to Jordan.  I love the way so many different types of landscapes have been captured – from the rocks, to the soft desert sand and the solid rock mountains behind them.  If you look closely on your right – you can even see a part of the sand-storm that was coming my way !

We managed to catch the Sunset in the Desert too – but my camera had died by then so I didn’t get to capture that image.

I wish I was back at this waterfall ! I was in Mauritius last week for an Edu-Tour of some new properties for events; and we went out for a picnic in the nature reserve … tucked away within 10 hectares of nature – this was 1 of 5 waterfalls on the reserve.

I didn’t have my bikini with me – otherwise I would have been swimming in there ! but I did cross into the falls and get up to the rocks and managed to get some of that fresh water splashing all over me =)

Have you been to any nice waterfalls and where ? Don’t you find them to be soothing ? I love to just sit down on the grass or some rocks – soak my feet in the water and watch the water flow from the top of the falls down into the rock pools or streams.

Have a lovely Wednesday ! Don’t forget to share your #WW link if you are participating !

It’s been a super draining few weeks – and I’ve barely found time for myself.  If I could fly – that would be me up there in the sky heading straight towards the sun set =)

I came across this mini-natural fall whilst on route to Lonavala from Bombay over the weekend.  I’m a sucker for a nature – and couldn’t resist stopping the car to get a few pics =)

What do you think ? Isn’t the picture just so serene ?

This picture was taken on Day 2 of my rafting and camping trip to Rishishek last year in October.  There’s something about this image that causes me to take a deep breath and just slowly exhale.

Thought I’d try something different since I’m still new to this .. I’d love to know your answers to the questions below :)

  1. How do you feel when you see this picture ?
    • Calm. And surreal.  Its so different to the concrete jungle I live in.
  2. What 3 words come to mind when you see this image ?
    • power of nature !
  3. If you could be at this location right now – who would you be there with and what would you be doing ?
    • I’d go with a handful of friends (including the group I went with last year); and it would make for a great picnic spot :)

So those are my answers .. what are yours ?

p.s. I reckon with my photography obsession - I’ll use a few of the images that I have taken over the next few Wordless Wednesday posts.

It’s my first Wordless Wednesday … decided to try it out whenever I can since I’m such an obsessive camera-holic !   This was the sunset view yesterday 16.3.10 from Dome at the Intercontinental Hotel on Marine Drive in Bombay.

I’ve just come back from what could possibly be one of the most mind blowing holidays’ ever !

For the first time, I gave up complete control and let ‘someone else organize’ a holiday and I just went along with it … no questions asked (okay that’s a bit of a lie – I did question quite a few things but never really got a response and was told to ‘shut up’ and ‘enjoy the vacation’)

I’m not the most religious person that you’d meet – but that’s not to say that I don’t believe in God.  I do believe there is an entity that watches over us all and is the creator / coordinator of life !  Yeah coordinator is my way of describing it ! hehe

So where did I end up on this vacation (which by the way is the first proper vacation I’ve taken since July 2008) … I found myself ‘camping’ on a silver sand beach right on the river Ganges … yup that’s right – the Holy River !

And when I say camping – I really mean ‘camping’ … which is something I’ve never done before … the closest I’ve been camping has been desert overnighters whilst growing up in Dubai and even then those were quite luxurious.

We were camping out in Rishikesh, which is a city in the state of Uttarkhand.  The city is also known as the ‘gateway to the Himalayas’ and is about 25 kms away from another holy city ‘Haridwar’.  It’s also recently come to be known as the adventure capital of India.

I went out white water rafting on the Ganges; kayaking; rappelling; body surfing; stayed in a really funky tent; was petrified of using the make-shift loo’s at night; sat by a campfire every night and snuggled up in a blanket every night after zipping my tent shut !

The pictures above are various views of the actual campsite – it was spread across the beach - maybe a kilometer or so and proved to be a lot of fun =)  The tin can with the mirror was basically our ‘freshening up’ zone !

This was a camp organized by a company called AquaTerra and I must say – they were excellent.  I spent 5 nights out there and just gave myself up to nature and literally forgot about civilization i.e. switched my phone off (I have NEVER done this); no laptop (this was hard!); no electricity; and best of all – I just stopped ‘thinking’

If you have ever contemplated a camping / rafting trip in India – then I highly recommend the above company and definitely make a trip down to Rishikesh.  The natural beauty that you can find out there is just breath taking !

Note:  I wrote this post on 28th May but only managed to upload it this morning

I am sitting on my maternal grandparents terrace which overlooks the sea face .. their house is located in an area aptly named Worli Sea Face …

I love chilling out on this terrace … it’s huge !! In terms of space – at least 75 people could hang out here with a full blown bar hehe but I am side tracking …

I’ve been sitting here for the past 2 hours and just enjoying the sounds of the sea; hearing the waves crashing against the rocky shoreline; and feeling the light breeze against my skin.

I managed to take a few pictures … what do you think ?

P5280006Isn’t the view just stunning ??  Whenever I am here – I feel like I am not in Bombay.  It’s as if I am away from the dirt and grime of an over populated city and have been transported elsewhere.

It’s just really nice to be out here … I am a nature lover and have always loved the water … If the sea was cleaner and not so dirty – I would have enjoyed taking a dip in the water … but alas you don’t always get what you want …

The time has flown by – and I’ve not coughed too much; even had a light  dinner out here – a traditional dish which can only be perfected at my grandmothers’ house – so a source of comfort for me =)

Check this photograph out … I basically had to lie down flat on the terrace and angle the camera upwards so as to be able to capture P5280014the palm tree, clouds and the moon.  Of course the moon was more crescent and since I’m not using a professional camera it looks like it is more full than crescent – but I still think it’s a really cool picture :)

Maybe I needed this ‘breath of fresh air’ to get out of my sick-mode … I’ve been ill so many days now – that I feel that I have forgotten what it is like to be outside .. since I’m not really allowed to go out and walk around etc.  Damn ! I should have come here sooner !
