blog-makeover

Just the other day I was desperately seeking inspiration for my blog; and voila today I found it !

A blog make-over ! What do you think about the new look and feel of my blog ? I found it over at TemplateGrid.

I’ve managed to tweak the template to suit my requirements (I quite like being able to edit HTML – it’s my secret skill); but still working out how to change the fonts on all the previous posts so that there is some uniformity.

Any suggestions or tips ? I really don’t want to manually do that !

Happy New Year Everyone ! I can’t believe we’ve already hit 2012 ! I’m still recovering from an extremely insane night out with my mates at the Royal Terrace and my feet are in pain !!

I don’t tend to make New Year Resolutions (not because I can’t keep them but because resolutions change depending on circumstances).  However I did come across this image with lots of key phrases and I thought – yeah that makes sense and pretty easy to manage. (oh and today also happens to be Day 1 of the Ultimate Blog Challenge that I’m taking part in)

Sometimes we need to take in the simple things that life has to offer us and step back to see just how much of a smile it leaves on our face.  I tend to be a very hyper (and aggressive) individual so I keep hearing my mates tell me that I should be more positive or smile more etc.  It’s not like I don’t – I do – but at times I feel like Bombay just tests every ounce of energy & patience that I have.

Looks like I’m just gonna have to turn that around for 2012 ! Do you have any New Year resolutions ? Any tips on how to stick to the ones you do make ?

p.s. if you are taking part in the Ultimate Blog Challenge, don’t forget to share your link below

It only took a few days of hunting around – and countless hours testing templates .. but I managed to finally narrow it down to this one.

In keeping with my New Year Resolutions – this is a first step towards creating a more customized design for my blog.  It’s not 100% me .. In fact I don’t even know how many % me this template is .. however it did catch my eye and I have settled on on it (trust me I tried & tested over 20 designs) – so there must be a fair amount of me in the design.

MakeoverMonday This is technically the third blog makeover (if I disregard the standard template when I first started blogging); and all 3 have been quite different from each other.  I’d love to get your thoughts and feedback on the current and previous design.

Is there anything I can change .. or do you know anyone who could help me with a blog makeover without damaging my pockets too much ? I’m already digging deep for my birthday party – but more on that later.

I still need to tweak it a bit … and any advice would be great !  There are 3 things I’d like to do :

  1. Change the font for the header text to Segoe Print – but every time I try to change the existing font family – nothing happens =(  Which font family does it belong to ? Any ideas ?
  2. Increase the overall size of the borders of the template so that the entire blog is a bit broader in width
  3. Increase the borders for the 2 columns on the right (currently one of my awards is getting cut off *sniff*sniff)

So if anyone out there reading this in blogosphere – and knows some secret HTML CSS codes that can solve my 3 issues -  pleeeeeeeeeeease do !

Until then – hope you enjoy the new layout and design .. and it doesn’t traumatize your eyes so much so that you would not come back !!! If you really really really really really hate it – then let me know and I’ll try to find something more pleasing on the eye ;)

p.s  I found the above image over at MyBlogMakeover who has some easy tutorials on how to customize designs into your blog background; and since it IS Monday .. the image was perfect to add to the post :)

I couldn’t sleep last night as my foot was aching quite badly (yep it’s not healed as yet and I swear I’m not the accident or illness prone type !!)…. As I lay on my bed with my foot propped up on four cushions, I went about looking at various blog templates – and then finally decided that I should try my hand at testing another design out.

website-facelift_02 Here’s the one I have finally picked … for those that know me, this is not exactly typical of me.  I really contemplated about it – actually – the butterfly – but since its a nice black 3 column layout with a splash of colour – I thought I would just ignore the butterfly and use the template.

Now I’m playing around with this template – and experimenting a little bit.

Please do let me know what you think about it ? If I should go back to my previous one or change the text colours around.

Also wanted to know if some of you are seeing my images in a sort of shadowy circle ?? I currently use Windows Live Writer to write up my blogs, and on here, and on my browser – the images come out as they are.  However based on a comment from the time of my last blog face lift apparently the photographs I put up don’t always come out in shape :(

Anyway – hope you like it =) and I’ll try to let this template last at least 2 months before changing it
