There are people who are bummed out by Mondays - I'm NOT one of them.  Then again, I like to call Mondays my unofficial day off since I run my own business and majority of my work is Wednesday to Sunday.

I've had this track on my SoundCloud.com playlist for a few weeks now and reckon it's the perfect peppy track to start the week off with. 
I generally like most of Pitbulls' music even though some of it could come across as repetitive.  What do you think of his music ? Have you heard this track before ?

I can't get this track out of my head. There's something about the beats and lyrics that resonates with me.  I've had it on repeat for a few days now. 

 Whilst many say that the lyrics refer to the artist & substance abuse ... I feel that one can take the lyrics in so many more ways.  There's something deep and passionate about it.  Could you feel - could you love someone that much ? 

This is quite the summer anthem this year - and quite a sexy track overall.  I've found myself grooving down the street to it over the last few days.  Perhaps it's the musical emotions that come to mind when I hear the track. 

 Have you heard this before ? What do you think ? Do you hear the Michael Jackson influence in the vocals ?

Music-MondayWoohooo, a song that I can actually whistle along too !  Not a bad way to start your Monday right ? A peppy tune to keep the cheer flowing.

Loving the location of the shoot for the video.  I wouldn’t mind soaking in the sun at a cliff-side pool.

Now all I need is the turquoise bikini and I’m pretty set (and a few more hours at the gym !!)

The beats in this track are absolutely fabulous and my favourite beat is at 1:12 till 1:30 into the track.

I started this Monday with Breakfast in Bombay, a late lunch / snacks in London, dinner & drinks on route to NY and by nightfall I’ll be in an Empire State of Mind !

Music-MondayI was listening to this in my car on the way to the gym and it put me in the best mood ever. I absolutely love this verse (actually who am I kidding, this verse is repeated throughout the track) .. and it’s soooooo me !!! I love to dance, and if I have a good dance partner – I would dance until the morning light.

The year before I met this guy – we danced, and it’s as if everything and everyone around us sort of just blurred out and the only thing that mattered was the beats, the music and putting ourselves out there on the dance floor.  (That’s how it was for me anyway – will have to ask the guy what it was like for him haha)

I got to hear some amazing tunes over the weekend .. works with lyrics and all ! Courtesy of my mates the AM siblings.

This is one of the tracks that AM (the bro) put up on his FB and I quite liked it.  It’s probably one of the best break up songs(it’s not sappy, doesn’t have depressing background music).  Yes I said best break up song. 

The reason I picked this tune for today’s MM is because the weekend doesn’t last forever and Monday is there to remind us of that.  So whilst it’s sad that the only way to face the week is by giving up all thoughts of th weekend – until the next weekend that is!

So much can be said for music.  When you hear the word ‘music’ it sort of makes you take a step back and a flash flood of all your favourite tunes whiz by in your mind.  Sometimes it makes you smile, sometimes it makes you teary eyed – regardless of how you react – the thing about music is that it always makes you react in some way or form.

Music-MondayHere’s a new track I heard this morning courtesy of my mate Mr Man in London who shared it on FB.  There was something about it that just appealed to me (and I will admit I had to pull up the lyrics on azlyrics.com just so I could follow it .. remember, me and lyrics don’t go so well together).

After hearing the lyrics (ok fine reading the lyrics whilst the song was playing) – I knew this would be perfect.  How many times have you related a piece of music to someone in your life and then thought ‘really – you did this after all we’ve been through ?’

It’s Monday folks which means it’s time for another #MusicMonday … woke up this morning and heard this tune … daaaaaamn it’s a such a chill beat; had me wishing I was waking up next to the beach instead of in the city !

I don’t know much about the group Avatars of Dub but I believe one of the members was part of the Thievery Corporation (another music group) at some point. 

There’s something about this tune which is mellow and yet very sensual all at the same time .. no wonder the track got name Sex Elevator Music !

I came across this track over the weekend – a nightMusic-Monday club owner friend from London posted it on Facebook and I just connected with it. Music has a way of doing that.

The beats and lyrics are really simple – one of those tracks where you aren’t struggling to figure out what the singer is singing.  He’s practically ‘saying’ this song out.

I’ll be the first to admit that this video has a bit too many creepy crawlies for my liking (one of my phobias) but other than that – there’s something about being out in nature at night that’s quite appealing.

Music-MondayIt’s the 1st #MM of 2012 and also Day 2 of the Ultimate Blog Challenge that I’m taking part in.

This track got my attention a few months ago and it’s sort of just stuck around.  It’s also one of the few tracks that I actually ‘listen’ to the lyrics of.  The simplicity behind them – when you take a minute to absorb it – makes you wonder how is it that more people haven’t already adopted that attitude when it comes to dating & relationships.

Over the past few years I’ve realized that when it comes to dating – or even just getting to know someone; people tend to be:

  1. overly cautious & overthink a situation / scenario. 
  2. overly eager to a point of nauseousness

just say itAnd frankly – it just makes me wonder how difficult could it possibly be to let someone know you randomly thought about them in the day or that you were crushing on them ? What’s the absolute worst thing that they could respond with ? That they don’t feel the same way or remind you that you are in the friend zone.  Maybe they have a laugh or a giggle; maybe they are a bit embarrassed or they pull a fade.  That’s about it right ?

I’ve always believed if you have something on your mind – you should just say it out loud and get it out of your system.  Otherwise one day, you might just regret it.
