Come on !! Who doesn't get a happy feeling knowing that there's some extra cash sitting in the bank account ?  Instead of spending that rolled up tenner that you found in your jeans pocket - just put it away.

At the start of the year I randomly decided to just collecting all the coins / spare change that I would find around my room, in my various hand bags or even in my car ... at the end of the month there was the equivalent of £20 that I had lying around ... think about it £20 x 12 months = £240 that's enough for a big night out or a weekend away.

I started saving properly when I hit 30.  I should have done it earlier but I was busy enjoying life and the financial independence that I had spent my entire 20's working for.   I'm 33 and have a good chunk sitting in the bank.  I may not be able to buy a house yet but I've got my down payment ready !

When did you start saving ? Are you regular saver ? Do you have any saving tips that you could suggest ?

Sometimes you just have to confront your past and lay out ground rules so that it doesn't suddenly pop up and send your present helter-skelter.

As hard as it may be to - don't look back at your past.  If something isn't working out for you - regardless of the situation i.e. work / personal life / education etc chalk out your options / alternatives and strive forward.  Once you've made that choice - don't dwell on the past.  This is when applying the 3 C's of Life will help you : make a choice to take a chance to change your life !

Once you have truly accepted that the past should remain in the past - you'll be able to see what the future has in store for you.  Life is too short to stress yourself.   I've made peace with my past - have you ?

How aware are you of who YOU really are ? Are you aware of the positive & negative qualities that you possess and the qualities that people think you have ? How 'accepting' are you

I came to the conclusion almost 2 decades ago when I was still in school that I'm different from my peers.  I didn't fall into the flock although I definitely had many 'flocks' of friends.  I'm an all-round person.  I can pretty much adapt to any situation I'm put in.  I'm very comfortable in my own skin.  I don't give a f*ck what people think about me (not in a bad way) but because unless you can tell me to my face - your opinion holds no value to me).

I have good days and bad days like everyone else.  I love my business and it drives me.  I work hard to party even harder.  There are days I wish my sweet tooth wasn't so bad and in turn that would result in me dropping at least 10 kgs but I do love dessert way too much to really give it up.  I love my friends fiercely.

Do you accept and enjoy yourself for who you are ?

With the Ultimate Blog Challenge just around the corner - I have more or less decided on a theme for my blog posts.  Have you heard or come across 'LastLemon.com' or perhaps you know them better for the cute cartoon 'Happiness Is ...' images that are floating around the internet ?

I'm going to use illustrations from LastLemon.com to help me get my blog on as it's been over a year since I've written on a consistent basis (although in my defence there are quite a few partial drafts sitting in my dashboard).

Ever since my Dad passed, it hit me hard in the face that life is unpredictable.  I've always known this but it 'sunk in'.  I've made it a point to try to enjoy / do more of anything & everything that makes 'Me' feel good.

I've started collecting illustrations that I feel an instant connect with and hopefully I'll get a few blog posts ready before the challenge actually starts ! So there you have it, my blog theme for the UBC is based around 'Things That Make Me Happy'

I hope you enjoy these posts and if you find yourself relating to any of them - I would love to hear from you in the comments.  If you're participating in the UBC then do let me know so that I can visit your blog as well.  Are you following a theme for your blog posts ? If you use Twitter then drop me a tweet on @dazediva
As you may be aware, the Ultimate Blog Challenge is back in October 2015 and yours truly is taking part in it to get out of my blogging rut !

My very first UBC was in Jan ’12 where I just blogged about random topics every day – and it did get hard towards the end of it.  Then I went ahead and with a general theme 'Think About It' wherein I wrote about quotes / images that connected to me.  I've also written about the 'A to Z of Blogging' and 'A to Z of Sex' for the Blogging from A to Z Challenge.

Given the above actually helped me focus my blogging in a particular direction - I'm wondering whether or not to go with a theme for this years' challenge ? I'm more than likely to do it - but then it's the topic that I need to think about.

Seeing that I'm in need of inspiration - it would mean a lot if you could suggest a theme or post topics that you would like to read about.

Couldn’t someone have come up with an easier word for ‘eating pussy’ than Cunnilingus ??

I don’t know know any man that doesn’t want to go down on a woman.  I have heard of some who have never ever tried and don’t want to either; but think it’s their God given right to receive a blowjob.  Now that attitude just pisses me off.  Seriously !! If you want to get a blowjob, then you have to reciprocate and eat your woman !

Ladies, let me hear you say ‘YES’ if you enjoy have a man (or a woman) go down on you.  I’m all for it and I would be disappointed if I met a man who wouldn’t go down on me.  Any man that knows how to work his tongue is a keeper !

Gentlemen, are you in favour of lapping away at your woman until her legs quiver against your face ? Or are you the type who won’t entertain the idea ? What are your thoughts on that ?  I read something last year called ‘Vagina Dinner’ by Kyle Mew and I think everyone should have a quick read of it.

Every woman is different and one should always try a few variations when it comes to sucking and licking a woman’s vagina and clit.  If you find your partner thrusting herself into your mouth; Don’t Stop whatever you are doing !!  A woman can have multiple orgasms with oral sex – so make sure you follow-up with some more lip action if you want to rock her world !  Trust me, you could end up with a sore tongue but if you keep at it and make her explode (think female ejaculation) – you will reap the benefits !

Diva’s Tips :

  • Guys, take the initiative (and earn brownie points) by surprising your partner with an early morning / afternoon / evening session focused on just her pleasure .. and by that I mean, use your tongue, your mouth until she begs you to stop !! And even then, don’t stop.
  • Ladies, not that I really need to say this, but always keep the sacred garden well mowed (or landscaped if you prefer) and watered regularly

Desperately actually.

The summer has seen this Diva be a bad blogger.  I just completely neglected my blog ‘cos I was busy having an absolutely fabulous summer jet-setting around the world to meet my friends.

Then I got back on track because I’ve always found solace in my blog.  It’s the perfect outlet for me to express all the things running through my mind.  There’s too much going on for me to contain it all.

Last month was a great because I got to take part in the Ultimate Blog Challenge for October 2012 and I actually got in 31 posts in 31 days ! Round of applause please !

For the last 11 days, I’ve been wanting to write but I can’t quite get the words out.  My screen is a blank slate and there’s no pencil / crayon / marker to scribble with !

So for those of you who take the time to read my blog – how about hitting me up with some inspiration ? I could really use it right now !

PBefore I start today’s post, let me throw a few questions your way.

  • Do you want other bloggers to know about your blog ?
  • Do you think you have a fun blog and want more readers ?
  • Do you want to be recognized as a budding blogger with tons of potential ?
  • Do you have amazing products and want to reach out to new clientele ?
  • Are you looking to publish and distribute the next best-seller on this side of blogosphere ?
  • Are you publishing blog content that everyone should read at least once ?

If you answered Yes to any of the above (very random questions) then my darling blogger friend, you better start pimping your blog ! And I don’t mean by standing in a dodgy alley and giving out your blog business card.

Social media is an amazing space and the most perfect place for you to pimp your blog without fear of being judged.  To use social media effectively, you know ‘know your audience’.  . Flowtown has a great infographic on social media demographics on their site.

6 Ways To Pimp Your Blog Diva Style

  1. Create a Face Book Fan Page for your blog and invite all your FB friends to ‘Like’ It.  Tell your Twitter friends too !
    • Use Networked Blogs to sync your blog posts to your Facebook profile and Facebook Fan Page.
  2. Create a Twitter account ifpimpmyblog you aren’t already on it – make sure your twitter name is something people can associate with your blog (if you are an anonymous blogger)
    • Tweet and Re-Tweet to your hearts’ content and use relevant hash-tags so people can find your content.
  3. Digg the posts you enjoy
  4. Stumble your own posts and share other posts you Stumbleupon.
  5. Add your blog link to your email signatures.  I do that on my personal email as ~ My Dazed Reflections http://www.dazedreflection.blogspot.com/
  6. If you are a business blogger or have a blog for your business, then LinkedIn can be a powerful tool for B2B (business to business) companies.

How do you pimp your blog over social media ? What works for you ? What other platforms have you used that aren’t mentioned ?

Feel free to leave your FB Fan Page; Twitter ID’s and Linked-In Profiles in the comments so others can share some bloggy love with you.

Before I started the A to Z Challenge, I knew I was going to faceJ trouble with some of the alphabets for my theme (which is the A to Z of Blogging – Diva Style … oooh I like the sound of that!)

I sent out a plea tweet yesterday as I still didn’t have any topic to write about and then one of my favourite bloggers @TheHopefulRom came to my rescue with the suggestion for today’s post ‘Just Do It’ ‘

TheHopefulRom thought it would be apt ‘For anyone who's spent ages thinking about blogging but has been too afraid’ – Just Do It.

It’s perfect and makes for a great post.  So I’ve come up with a few scenarios where the motto ‘Just Do It’ will get you motivated enough to keep you going.

Here’s the Deal. You’re new to the blogging world, and you want to get your blog noticed.  What do you do ? Blog, Blog and Blog on ! Just do it ‘cos if you don’t, no one will know you’re out there.

Here’s the Deal.  You want to experiment with your blog content to show off your witty sense of humour but aren’t sure if your readers will like it. Just do it ‘cos someone out there in blogosphere is going to enjoy your post.

Here’s the Deal. You’ve been reading about blog challenges but don’t know if you will be able to complete it.  Don’t be afraid. Just do it how else will you know if you can or can’t complete it.

Here’s the Deal. Are you afraid of leaving comments on other blogs ? Just do it and de-lurk ! Trust me – you won’t regret it.

Here’s the Deal.  You want to write about a potentially controversial topic / you are infuriated by something but afraid to blog about it / you’ve been inspired by an idea that could just turn the heat up on your blog .. but you hold yourself back.  Just do it – blogs are meant to be an outlet for you to express yourself; it’s your blog after-all.

Here’s the Deal.  You’ve made your blogger friends that you follow them on FB and/or Twitter and you would love for them to Guest Post on your blog but afraid / embarrassed to ask.  Just do it – not only will the other blogger be flattered they would also appreciate that you think highly of them.

justdoit

Just Do It.  3 very powerful words.  So whether you are a newbie or a native in blogosphere, whenever you find yourself in doubt (in similar situations to above; not for when you’re thinking about raiding a bank or jumping off a cliff) – just do it ! What’s the worst thing that could happen ?

Disclaimer : Neither TheHopefulRom or myself are promoting Nike or blogging on their behalf.  This thought can be traced back to the Tweets between THR & myself on 10th April 2012.

(I’m trying to be funny – is it working ?)

Ideas & Inspiration

All blog posts stem from an idea or a thought which our fingers tap out into posts via the keyboard.

Do you ‘think’ about what your blog posts are going to be about or do you just let your creativity take over ? Or do you get an ‘ah ha’ moment and you know that’s what your next post is going to be about.

Sometimes I get inspired by other blogs I read – and I feel that I could definitely add another perspective to the general idea & thought behind that post.  I started participating inI memes such as #MusicMonday and #WordlessWednesday ‘cos I found that I certain music and photographs just tend to inspire me to pour out my emotions / thoughts.

I love the idea behind the A to Z Challenge because you’ve basically been given an outline of what you have to do – and now the world is your oyster and you can choose to write about anything.  I’ve come across blogs that are using the theme to list the best movies; favourite music artists; give writing advice; introducing characters from a fiction novel; and even relationships.  It’s fantastic.

Where do you get your blog ideas from ? What inspires you the most ? What inspired the theme behind your A to Z challenge posts ? Do check out my posts 712 Topics You Can Write About and Never Run Out of Blog Ideas Again

Infographics

I’m sure you’ve seen them floating around cyber space – I find them pretty cool.  Did you know that cave paintings are considered to be the first infographics ? How cool is that ?

I quite admire anyone who is able to create an infographic – especially for complex information that needs to be easily understood.  I tried doing a basic one just for myself and gave up half way ‘cos it was getting too detailed (and really I am quite useless at using advanced Photoshop or any other creative software)

Do you use any infographics in your blog posts ? Have you tried to create one before ? If you are the creative designer type and use various software for designs then you should check out Inkscape

Diva’s Discovery

I personally really liked ‘Visual.ly’ for creating infographics because the interface is simple and easy to use.  Have you ever used it before or heard of the site ?  Here’s a funky infographic I made with the help of the ‘create’ feature on the site (they also have templates to guide you from)

a-zBy now you would be aware that I’m taking part in the A to Z Blogging Challenge which kicks off on the 1st of April.  In fact I’m one of 1416 people who are participating.

This will be the 3rd blog challenge I’m participating in and the one thing I have learned from all of them is that – one must plan ahead.  A few months ago when I discovered this challenge, I actually wrote up 5-6 posts (with no theme) but those didn’t get transferred when I switched laptops.  So for the past few weeks I’ve been contemplating what sort of theme to focus the A to Z challenge around. Technically I can write about anything I want – or even use photos as long as it corresponds to the alphabet of the day and has about 100 words.

I’ve decided to go with the theme ‘A to Z of Blogging’ where I’ll associate each letter of the alphabet with tips / ideas of how you can enhance your blogging experience.

Here’s a run down of the topics behind my Blogging theme (please feel free to add points on what you would want to read about or perhaps a topic that you feel I could include)

  1. A – about page / accountability / advertise /
  2. B – blog blog blog / bookmark your fav blogs /
  3. C – comments / challenges /cite your sources
  4. D – Delurk Yourself
  5. E – express yourself
  6. F – Follow others / Facebook / Friends
  7. G – guest bloggers / grow as a blogger
  8. H – humour
  9. I – Intense Debate / Interact
  10. M – make the time / music / Memes / mix it up
  11. N – new ideas / networked blogs / networking
  12. O – Opinions Matter / original posts
  13. P – pimp your blog on social networks
  14. Q – quotes / quality over quantity
  15. R – respond to comments / Read & Respond
  16. S – sexy Saturday / Sunday / Schedule your blog
  17. T – tweet away / tweet & tumblr
  18. V – visual content / video content
  19. W – wordless Wednesday / we heart it
  20. Y – your blogger voice

I’m having trouble with the below letters – and really hope you guys can give me some suggestions on what I can write about.  It’s like my mind is completely blank in trying to put together something for these letters.

  • J
  • K
  • L
  • U
  • X
  • Z

If you are participating in the challenge, have you decided on a theme ? What is it ? Do let me know if you can think of other tips I can throw in based on the alphabets.  If you aren’t participating, what are some of the topics you would like to read about based on my current theme ? If you fancy taking part, then feel free to sign up for the challenge here.

Last summer I took part in the 10 Day YOU Challenge to see if I could actually blog 10 days in a row.  I did and it felt good to know that I had been a part of a ‘community challenge’ – I came across some fun blogs and got to know a few new people on Twitter.

Then at the start of this year in January – I participated in the Ultimate Blog Challenge – where the rules stated that one must write a post a day or a total of 31 posts in the month of January.

This month, I’ve been taking part in a small ‘photo-a-day’ challenge that my friend Sabu put together on FaceBook and we are 11 of us just doing it for fun.  I’m so thankful to my mate for doing this ‘cos it has kept me on my toes and its made me accountable for actually taking a photo a day and sharing it with the group.

Somewhere in between these challenges, I came across something called the A to Z Challenge and it caught my attention.  So much so that I had even prepared in advance and scheduled some posts in anticipation of participating in the challenge and not falling behind on schedule.  That was until my laptop died and I had to get a new one – which meant that none of my posts got saved as I had written them on live-writer.

Today, I came home after an amazing spa day with my girlf and decided that I need to stop procrastinating and just prepare myself for this blog challenge in April … and so this post is there to sign it off Challenge Accepted[4]in black and white into blogosphere that I’m gonna do this !

That’s right folks – in the words of Barney Stintson ‘Chalenge Accepted’ I’m going to take part in the  A to Z April 2012 Blogging Challenge !

ideas 2After countless hours in front of my laptop trying to put together new post topics to keep me going through the Ultimate Blog Challenge, I realized that there are ideas everywhere; you just have to know where to look (which can be pretty time consuming).

So I thought I’d save you some screen time and share 712 blog topics that you can write about and refer to when you’re suffering from a bout writers block or when your creative juices are completely drained out.
