An Open Letter

Dear Heart,

It’s time we had a chat. 

Lately you’ve not been yourself.  You seem to be consumed in thoughts of another.  First thing in the morning, last thing at night, even randomly during the day.

What’s going on here ?

Do you know what happens when you let yourself do that ?

You’ll make yourself go dizzy.  It’ll take your breath away.  You’ll feel the blood pounding against your chest.  It’ll make you question so many things.  Do you really want that ?

Do you want to be swept away the way you are ?

Don’t you want to know what all this really means ?

If you aren’t going to ask - how on earth are you going to know ?

And that’s what holding you back. 

You know I’m right.  You know you need to ask.  You don’t want to come across as pushy, and yet you shouldn’t participate in games.  

But this is you dear heart that we’re talking about.  Don’t you think you need to ‘know’ ? And I mean ‘really know’. 

How deep are you willing to go before you hurt yourself ? I know you don’t bruise easily, but scars often run deeper than you let on.  You’re a tough cookie like that. 

Time and space is of the essence but at some point you have to draw a line – even if it is an imaginary one just so that you know there’s a boundary somewhere.

So my suggestion is to pour it out, forget about the consequences because it’s better that you let it out than keep it all in and drive us both crazy.  I don’t know how you do it but it makes my head spin !And no matter what the result is – I’ll be there to talk you through it.

Great Dating Blogs Award

Imagine the surprise I had when I received a tweet a few days ago stating that I should put myself forward for the Great Dating Blogs Award 2013.

Me ? My blog ?  That’s huge news !!

 

Honestly, I’m aware that mine is a very sporadic blog and yes, I do have enough posts related to dating / relationships that could somehow put me up as a nominee … but to have someone else tell you to do it – it’s a bit of a big deal and I’m super excited about it !

 

So I did what any good blogger would do – I went and registered my blog for the Best Newcomer nomination.

 

Now it’s time to wait and see if I get short listed.
